Overview
Estimates indicate that 46 million people in the USA are without health insurance. Approximately 1.2 million New Jerseyians are included in that group. Under these circumstances, obtaining adequate medical treatment, prescriptions, durable medical equipment (DME) and medical supplies becomes a daily challenge and burden. Even for those with health coverage, strict rules and guidelines can limit access to essential equipment needed for rehabilitation or ongoing medical conditions.
Your ReSource has developed a unique program that successfully fills this critical void in the equipment delivery system.
What is C.A.R.E?
The C.A.R.E. program (Community Access to Rehabilitation Equipment) offers a practical solution by recirculating quality gently used DME to people in the community, by utilizing effective reuse and recycling strategies. The following describes how this mission was derived.
- A significant amount of DME is issued to insured patients and used in healthcare settings.
- Once these items are no longer needed or become outdated, there is no system to manage the excess equipment that has accumulated in homes, hospitals, and clinics. Much of it is thrown in the trash.
- There are increasing numbers of individuals who need equipment, have no access to it and can benefit from the abundance of gently used equipment currently being stored or discarded.
- Not having the necessary or proper piece of equipment can easily reduce an individual's physical level of functioning as well as their emotional well being.
These dynamics support the development of the C.A.R.E. program creating a win-win solution for each person and the environment, as valuable materials are kept out of the landfill.
Why Donate?
- You believe in helping those who can use a hand.
- You believe in redirecting useful material from our local landfills.
- You receive a tax deduction based on fair market value for equipment donations or actual dollars for your monetary donations.
- You can C.A.R.E.
Who Donates?
